This autumn there is a spicy new addition to the Waitrose Cooks’ Ingredients range with the launch of NEW Waitrose Indian Cooks’ Ingredients. This new selection joins the successful range of Cooks’ Ingredients already available at Waitrose including Italian, Mediterranean, British and Baking.
This new extension to Waitrose Cooks’ Ingredients showcases the very
best, genuine Indian cookery ingredients, created for a real taste of
India. Designed with scratch cooks in mind, the Indian Cooks’
Ingredients collection includes a versatile range of time- saving
marinades, pastes and sauces. Based on traditional Indian recipes
handed down through generations, this range can be used to produce a
wide variety of dishes from a classic Korma to a more individual Achari.
Use the Hariyaldo Pudina, Tikka or Achari Marinade to add a
hint of the exotic to any meal, or create a delicately fragranced curry
with a Tikka or Balti paste (all £1.89 per 200g) and let the spices and
flavours transport you to the exotic world of Indian cuisine, quickly
and easily.
A time saving device, created to cut up to 45
minutes off curry cooking time, is the Onion Base for Curry (£1.35 for
200g). It is made from finely chopped onions, ginger, garlic and green
chilli, which are gently sautéed over a low heat for 45 minutes to
create a ready-to-use onion base for many dishes. Created in a
completely different way to the well known Soffritto base for Italian
and European cooking, this base makes a huge flavour difference to all
Indian dishes and adds an authentic taste of India.
Lydia Gerratt,
buyer for Cooks’ Ingredients’ says: “We have introduced the new Indian
Cooks’ ingredients range due to demand from our customers. Everyone can
make a curry, but what this range does is add a touch of authentic
Indian cooking to every dish. Not everyone has the time to create a
traditional Balti from scratch, but with these Indian Cook’s
Ingredients, they can and they can rely on Waitrose to have created the
most authentic, traditional recipe possible.’
